Welcome to our ongoing series where we introduce the people behind Openclaims. Each edition offers a glimpse into the unique roles, skills, and personalities that help shape our platform. This time, we’re giving the spotlight to Simone Assumpcao, our Front-end Developer.
What is your role at Openclaims?
I’m the front-end developer here at Openclaims. I maintain and develop new features for our driver-facing applications, making sure everything is clear, smooth, and enjoyable to use.
How long have you been working at Openclaims?
Just over 5 years now—actually, 5 years and 3 months! It’s been a fantastic journey so far, and I’ve learned a lot along the way.
What’s something you’ve worked on that you’re proud of?
The rebuild of our platform, without a doubt. I got to work on the new application from the ground up—from helping choose the tech stack to designing the front-end structure and implementing it. Having that level of involvement was both challenging and super rewarding.
What motivates you most in your work?
I love learning new things and turning ideas into real features. There’s something really satisfying about building something from a request and seeing it make a difference in how people work.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Openclaims?
Definitely the team! Everyone is so supportive and willing to help, whether it's brainstorming the best way to build something or solving a tough bug. The collaboration and positive energy here really stand out.
What’s your go-to song when you need to focus?
I don’t usually work with music—I prefer the natural “room noise.” It helps me stay focused and in the zone.
What are random topics you could talk about for hours? What are your interests outside of work?
I love hands-on projects—building furniture, painting, anything creative with my hands. There’s always something in progress at home, and I really enjoy getting into the details of each new project.
